Birch Vessel

Sometimes when woodturning, my artistic side takes over and I allow for the wood to dictate its shape and form.  With this Birch Vessel, I paid attention to the movement in the grain and the way it was flowing.  By complementing the movement, I saw in the grain, I created this shape for this vessel.  The shape is further complemented by its luster, not just was appears within the species but also with the finished applied to it.  This form lends itself as a decorative piece or as a vessel for a small, dried flower.
