Maple - 7.5"

This maple bowl was turned just 3 days after it was harvested from a tree.  Unfortantly a tree was being taken because it was beginning to lean over the garage.  To keep some of the material from the dump, we collect this urban lumber and give it new life.  This particular piece was turned green to about 1/8" thickness and allowed it to slowly dry in a dark place.  This resulted in an oblong shaped bowl.  This piece also shows off some quilting/ripples within the grain adding to the shine.
