Russian Olive Vessel

Russian Olive is often passed and rarely seen in a wood turning shop since it is a very hard wood to turn and becomes very hot when turned, but the results from the heat and unique grain can be amazing. With this semi enclosed vessel, the grain has so much movement and direction the shape really complements the wood in its entirety. The movement within the grain is always a surprise when you first work with a piece, and this is no exception, and Russian Olive is always welcome into my shop!
